Iran is a country in southwestern asia known as the middle east with different types of climate. Iran is the second largest country in the middle east after Saudi arabia. Iran`s climate is mild and quite wet on the coast of Caspian sea and cold in high and old mountains,desert and hot in the southern coast.
In the west and north area of iran we have rains a bit more than in the east and south. The rainy area is the Caspian sea coast and everywhere in summer is sunny.

There are natural regions in Iran, the Alborz as the highest mountain in Asia and Damavand and Zagros that extend across the contry For more than 1600 km from north west to the south east. Damavand mountain is 5.610 meters ( 18.405 feet) high and located south Of the caspian sea and zagros high is around 4200 meters (13.800 feet) . in winter high mountains experience snowfalls frosts and Strong winds.

Tallest mountains in iran are:
Damavand with 18406 feet , alam kuh is 906 feet ,Sabalan 15784 feet,zard_kuh 14921 feet, Dena 14465 feet, kuh-e-palvar 13875 feet, kuh-e-jupar 13615 feet , shirkuh 13287 feet , taflan 12930 feet.
So,the whole area of iran is divided into four parts: 1- mountains ½ 2-desert ¼ 3- fertile plains ¼ as the other part.
Iran is covered by high plateaus surrounded by connected ranges of mountains. There is high temperature variations between winter and summer Have a continental climate in the north , with cold winters and hot summers, while the climate is sub-tropical.
In the central-southern parts where winters are a little milder, and summers are sunny.
The climate is mostly arid or semiarid, sub-tropical along caspian cost.
Iranian plateau or Persian plateau is a geolohical feature in western asia elevations, a more sever climate , and greater precipitation than are Found on the Anatolian plateau.

Dasht-e-kavir,and kavir-e-lut . they are the most aird and hottest areas of their kinds in the world. Dasht-e-kavir also known as kavir-e-namak and The great salt desert. Is la large lying in the middle of the Iranian plateau. With total area of about 77600 km making it the earth`s 24th largest desert. s
The kavir-e-lut desert is a large salt desert located in the province of Kerman and Sistan and Baluchestan , Iran . it was included on Unesco`s world heritage list on July 17,2016.
